All of the following data is stored exclusively on your computer in a local SQLite database:

• Client names and contact information
• Project and task details
• Time entries and hours tracked
• Invoice data and billing information
• Company information for invoices
• Email settings and SMTP configurations
• Application preferences

1.2 Website Analytics (Optional & Anonymous)

Our website (freelancetimer.pro) may use basic analytics tools to understand:

• Page views and visitor counts
• Geographic location (country/region level only)
• Browser and device types
• Traffic sources (how you found us)

This data is:

• ✅ Anonymous (no personally identifiable information)
• ✅ Optional (you can use browser extensions to block tracking)
• ✅ Not linked to your app usage (website and app are separate)

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.

1.3 Software Updates

When you check for updates (manually via the "Check for Updates" button), the app may send:

• Current app version number
• Operating system type (Windows 10/11)

This is a simple version check and does not include any personal data or usage information.

2. What Data We DON'T Collect

We explicitly do not collect, access, or store:

• ❌ Time tracking information
• ❌ Invoice contents or amounts
• ❌ Email addresses or contact lists
• ❌ Company or business information
• ❌ Usage patterns or behavior analytics
• ❌ File locations or system information
• ❌ Any personally identifiable information from the app

3. How Your Data is Stored

3.1 Local Storage

By default, FreelanceTimer.pro stores all data in a SQLite database file located on your computer at a path you specify during setup (e.g., C:\Users\YourName\Documents\TimeTrackerApp\).

You control:

• Where the database is stored
• Who has access to it
• When and how it's backed up
• Whether to delete it

3.2 Cloud Sync (Optional)

You may choose to store your database in a cloud storage folder (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.) for backup or multi-device access.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Email Sending (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)

When you send invoices via email, the app uses your own email account through SMTP protocols.

• Your email credentials are stored locally and encrypted in the app's settings
• We never see or have access to your email account
• Email sending is direct between your computer and your email provider
• Your email provider's privacy policy applies to sent emails

4.2 Payment Processing (Donations)

If you choose to support development via PayPal donations:

• We collect only: Name, email address, and donation date
• Payment information is handled entirely by PayPal
• We never see or store your payment information
• Transaction data is used only for acknowledgment and tax purposes

5. Data Security

5.1 Local Security

Your data security is determined by:

• Your computer's security measures (password protection, encryption, etc.)
• Your cloud provider's security (if using cloud sync)
• Your email provider's security (if sending invoices)

We recommend:

• Using strong passwords on your computer
• Enabling full-disk encryption (BitLocker on Windows, FileVault on Mac)
• Regular backups of your database file
• Secure email passwords and 2-factor authentication

5.2 No Data Breaches... Because We Don't Have Your Data

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We don't share your data because we don't have it.

The only scenarios where information might be disclosed:

6.1 Legal Compliance

If legally required, we may disclose:

• Donor records (for tax or legal purposes)
• Email addresses (for license verification or legal proceedings)

We cannot disclose your client data, time entries, or invoices because we don't have access to them.

7. Your Rights & Control

You have complete control over your data:

• ✅ Access: You own your database file and can access it anytime
• ✅ Export: Export data to Excel or PDF at any time
• ✅ Delete: Delete your database file to permanently remove all data
• ✅ Portability: Move your database file to any location or device
• ✅ Modify: Edit or delete any entries within the app

For donation records:

• Request a copy: support@freelancetimer.pro
• Request deletion (subject to legal/tax retention requirements)

8. International Users

FreelanceTimer.pro can be used anywhere in the world. Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• No data is transferred internationally (unless you use cloud sync)
• GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations are inherently satisfied
• Your data never leaves your control

9. Children's Privacy

FreelanceTimer.pro is a business productivity tool intended for professional use. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years of age.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

For significant changes, we'll notify users via:

• A notice on freelancetimer.pro
• An in-app notification (if applicable)
• Email (for donors only)
